Is it possible in NX10 to mill/interpolate a back bore feature using a slot milling tool?

Short answer: As long a sthe tool fits down the hole, yes.

 

Multiple ways to do it, I'd try planar mill.

Use avoidance geometry (start/return points) and engage/retract as needed.

Thanks for the input. I was able to get it done by using Planar Profile and setting the floor distance to the width of my grooving tool.

There is no dedicated operation for this yet. Radial groove milling comes the closeset but it currently requires a bottom.

If it's just a single cut level use planar profile with a tracking point on top of the t-cutter.

Thanks. By using the Drive Point dropdown on Planar Profile, i can toggle between top and bottom tracking points of the groove cutter. Very cool

You can do it using Generic Motion operation in this case you will have better control on your toolpath.

Generic Motion is found in the mill_multi-axis and probing template types.
