I little bit confused..
When I used NX9 for mill-turn simulation I build a lot of kind chucks & jaws and put it to device database. For each jaw - independent J1, J2, J3.....J6) axis, and all axises discribed inside MCF-file. Good!
But for NX 9.0.3 mp9 ... NX10 if you touch any axis for modofications - you will see a message - "All data about channels and axises will be imported to prt-file. Check all data!!!".
Ok. I check all data.
But - if I add chucks from library - "J1 Axis not registered!"
HOW I CAN USE CHUCKS LIBRARY????
3-4 months ago I start a same topic - no any answers. It impossible?

I have few turn-mill CSE-model, with different chucks for main spindle and for subspindle. Inside machine tree I have MOUNT_JUNCTION only:
And chuck as device, with assigned J1 J2 J3 axises for each jaw:
And - I can add for my CSE-model any kind, any size, any produser chucks.
J1 J2 J3 (J5 J$ J6) - discribed inside MCF\CCF files, all working ok.
In NX22.214.171.124 or NX10 - if you try to change any axis parameters - all information from MCF will be transferred to NX prt. And - if I havenot chuck model in machine tree - I cannot to register J1 J2 J3 axis for jaws. Axis, discribed in device model - invisible for main model. and if I add chucks from libs - I see a message (Axis J1... not registered)....

While I am on NX7.5, I did (basically) the same thing as Yuri
Chucks mount to machine using junction as chuck "devices"
Chuck device has "jaw" mount junctions
Jaw devices mount to the chuck using those jaw mount junctions.
I haven't tested any of my stuff in NX10 yet (still testing posts themselves) and I'm getting a bit worried...
Note I am using VNC for IS&V
Production: NX10.0.3.5 MP5 + patch/TC11.2

I don´t see any difference to the sim15 example in NX903mpx/10x. So I don´t understand why you have problems here.
Only a few ideas/assumptions...:
- you imported the J1-Jx axis information from the MCF file to the chuck?
There is only an import required for the machine without the axis information of the device. The axis definiton/configuration for the device must be done manually --> in an "early" version of nx903MPx and/or NX10x it was allowed to create and configure a channel for devices. We fixed that... because a device (and its axis) is usually controlled by the PLC and not by the NCK --> devices are initially channel independent
- you imported the MCF file to the machine, including J1-Jx axis information ?
The KIM is usually not equipped with a chuck, as you mentioned. So the axis of the chucks are not part of the channel settings of the machine.

Please, open sim15_9ax example. No chucks, just mounting junction only. Kinematic tree not include any J1 J2 J3 axis.
Please, open any empty CAM-part, and add sim15_9ax to this project. No chucks. Please, ADD chucks from library (Insert-Tool-Dev_from_lib), any chucks with assigned J1 J2 J3.
Please, show me - how you can move J1 jaw?
Yra, i think you used old CSE controler from previous NX version.
Now you should add GMe_AssignSubChuckJawAxisIntoChannel and GMe_AssignMainChuckJawAxisIntoChannel in controler. You can see this inside sim15_millturn_9ax.MCF. Now all axis chuck you may attach by these commands.
