CSE - kinematic sim15 like - NX 8.5.3.3 MP11

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with a CSE like sim15. I need two kinematic chains.

First chain is like in sim15:

<MacroCommand>
<Name>GMe_Set5AxisTransformation</Name>
<Param>TRUE</Param>
<Param>"C1-B1-X1-Y1-Z1-C4"</Param>
</MacroCommand>

If we use TRAORI we get this error message:

00:00:00.90 Command 'SetKinematicTransformation' called with invalid argument
00:00:00.90 Unspecified error when executing method 'GMe_Set5AxisTransformation'.

It should be work, but... no. What can be the reason?

Do I need a kinematic chain in Machine Configurator?

Hi Viktor,

we introduced the kinematic chain definition within the MTB with NX9. In prior versions you have to define the chains in the MCF file (Kinematic Chains) by addressing junctions from the kinematic model.

 Hi Thomas,

but why does it work with sim15?

My machine is similar to it.

[ Edited ]

Hi Viktor,

in NX8/85 were two options to define kinematic chains. The first and official one was the definition via junctions and Machine Configurator --> this is the way you should go

The inofficial one (how the sim15 was configured) was very complicated and possible only when doing the chain definiton in XML directly without any UI. For that it was necessary to de- and encrypt the CCF files manually --> this way is obsolet since the definition option via junctions in NX8/85 and later with NX9 in Machine Tool Builder.

If you need further help for the definition via junctions and MC let me know.

What i see also that you define a Chain with 6 Axis

<Param>"C1-B1-X1-Y1-Z1-C4"</Param>
</MacroCommand>

It is only possible with max 3 linear axis and 2 rotational axis

Hi schauerm3,

thank you for your reply.

I know about the 3/2 axis kinematic chain. It works in sim15, because of a hidden implementation of the chain in the ccf files.

My problem is solved now. My chains are build out of ksys junctions.
