CSE - wrong simulation loaded - axes information from the mcf

Hello everybody,

our customer has a nice phenomenon.

We open a CAM setup with a loaded CSE and want to simulate an operation.

The simulation details show us a strange note : The axes information come from the .MCF file.

In this case of course it is wrong, the axes information are in the .prt SIM file.

There is 1 SIM part on the server, the loading options are normal.

We generate the same machine again and everything is ok.

After that we save and close the setup and open it again with the same phenomenon.

What can be the reason?

Best wishes from Hamburg,

Viktor

Hi VikP,

this sounds strange.

Which NX Version?

Have you also saved the Machine part file in this version and after that replaced the machine in cam setup?

Re: CSE - wrong simulation loaded - axes information from the mcf

Hi Thomas,

we had the situation with NX10.03 and now the same issue with NX11.0.1.11 MP3.

With NX11 we saved the SIM file or renamed it. Nothing happened.

I have a development environment with customers resource, but I cant reconstruct the situation.

On my workstation the simulation is loading correct.

Was the axis information set correctly in the MCF file and afterwards imported into the part file as described in Update MTB Channel Configuration ?

One idea: It might be related to the load option.

Please double check which files are really loaded when the problem occurs.

Re: CSE - wrong simulation loaded - axes information from the mcf

The axes information in the MCF file aren't correct and there was no import into the SIM file.

In the normal case I define my axes in the SIM file and have not one information of an axis in the MCF file.

But I will check it again and will sync the MCF file with the SIM file.

I'll check the load options again.

Stupid question, is there a load algorithm for the mcf files like for the prt files?

I thought the mcf file link goes from the .dat files...

If I make a CAM setup out of an CAM template, then we get this situation. The template part includes the current machine.

If I start a new Part and load manual the CSE, then everything is ok.

Could it be, that the template part cause the problem?

The MCF file is fixed and used as specified in the DAT file.

The machine assembly can be loaded through the regular NX load options or when entering CAM through UGII_CAM_SEARCH_DIRS, if the assembly was not loaded through the regular load options already.

The template part contains a copy of the machine kinematic settings, so you need to update the template part too after the kinematics have been updated.

In my opinion the template part is the culprit. I do have some template parts containing machine tools and only one of them is giving me trouble similar to yours.

Re: CSE - wrong simulation loaded - axes information from the mcf

Ok, thank you for the informations.

So far, I can't fix this issue with existing CAM setups.

I made a fully NX11 CAM template part with only NX11 features. Now it works.

All new CAM projects works fine without strange phenomena.
