Bringing this thread back from the dead because the subject line is most relevant.

Is there any way to use the CSEPreprocessLine method in NX10?

Thanks,

John

Yes.

I think I used it for first time in NX 8.0 or 8.5.

it worked the same way as it does with present NX versions

I was hoping the questions would die out ;-)

CSEPreprocessLine function can still be used. Also in NX10. But we don´t recommend to use it any longer due to the availability of the Python based parser.

How to use the CSEPrepro**** peeeeeeepp function is described above.

Keep in mind that each NC command in each Line will call this function! This has an impact to the overall system performance and it can have side effects you don´t want . I've seen horrible things done with that function. And I'd don´t want to know what else some people have done with it.

Use it only in exceptional cases and when you know what you´re doing. In all other cases we suggest to go with the Python approach.

Thanks Thomas,

I didn't see the method in either CCF by default, so I added it - but it didn't seem to have any effect.

What about for Sinumerik? How can we customize the parser to accept a strange command?

Thanks,
John
