Can't start the license server. I guess it's a license issue

I'm trying to set up a License Server for NX 10 on Windows 7, but I'm running into some problems at this very moment. The License File was generated from the services available at the WebKey Account and it came with the following strings:

SERVER YourHostname COMPOSITE=844544159991 28000

According to the FAQ section in the installation guide, I changed the SERVER line string to my hostname:

SERVER N70428670 COMPOSITE=844544159991 28000

Anyway, when I start the server daemon (lmtools), the debug log file "splm_ugslmd.log" displays the following lines (the irrelevant ones were suppressed):

In order to overcome the hostid situation, I have changed the SERVER line string to:

SERVER N70428670 COMPOSITE=EC5FF79942C6 28000

When I started the server daemon once again, the debug log file “splm_ugslmd.log” reported the following:

16:21:12 (lmgrd) This may be due to the fact that you are using

16:21:12 (lmgrd) a different license file from the one you expect.

16:21:12 (lmgrd) Check to make sure that:

16:21:12 (lmgrd) C:\Program Files\Siemens\PLMLicenseServer\License.lic

16:21:12 (lmgrd) is the license file you want to use.

Could someone help me out with this issue?

Re: Can't start the license server. I guess it's a license issue

1) You can't edit the "composite" string in the license file.  You have to run the utility to get your composite ID(s) and get a new license file with the proper one.

2) is this a laptop?  Issue could be that on wire you get one ID, on wireless another.  There are articles in uganswer about how to set laptops up so they always use the one ID (typically the wired one, as the wireless ones may not be available it turned off).

Hope this helps...Ken
