Convert X Y Z coordinates of Main MCS to Local Coordinate System (LCS)

Hi All,

I am building a post for 5 Axis Dual Table machine ( XYZBC ).

I have a MCS at center of table and local coordinate system at an angle . Say B37 C 90

I have an operation under LCS which is defined as "Fixture Offset"

Here is the problem:

1) I have to output initial XYZBC wrt MCS to get the correct XYZBC

2) output rest of the coordinates wrt LCS.

Is there any way by which I can configure the post to output coordinates wrt local and main for the same operation?

The postprocessor can do this. You will have to do the math for the position relative to the main machine coordinate system (I think.) The mom_pos positions will be relative to parent mcs. Another approach would be to put a position move with generic motion (rotary point vector) and set it under the main mcs.

Re: Convert X Y Z coordinates of Main MCS to Local Coordinate System (LCS)

First you should define your LCS as "CSYS Rotation" instead of "Fixture Offset"
Than you can use variable mom_init_pos,mom_init_alt_pos and mom_init_out_angle_pos

mom_init_pos (0..2) is the offset from MCS to LCS
mom_init_pos(3..4) are the rotational axis (0..360°)
mom_init_out_angle_pos(0..1) are the limited angle of the rotational axis

Hope this helps
