Hello,

I would like to know if is it possibile to create a new Motion event in post builder, for example there are the Linear Move, Circular Move and Rapid Move, but I'm developing a mill-turn post so I would like a Lathe Thread event too,

is it possibile?

Thank you

Hi, it is possible by editing pui manually but I would not recommend that.

Try uplevel custom command what will handle the thread move ( like helix is upleveled)

Personally, I prefer to keep my mill & turn posts separate, and link them together.

If you don't want to use the "head" UDE to switch posts, you can do it "automagically" by using "proc PB_machine_mode"

For an example of doing the code for PB_machine_mode, create a "throwaway" "3 axis mill-turn" (XZC) mill post using "generic" control.

Under "Machine tool" tab, general parameters, change machine mode to "simple mill-turn" and select a lathe post (actually, it can be ANY post, if you know what/how to edit in tcl).

Save the post.

Look in the .tcl file for the PB_machine_mode
