Cut Area selection - Tangent Faces - predefining the Tangent Angle

[ Edited ]

Hi,

when selecting faces e.g. for the cut area one can choose selection intent rule Tangent Faces (see image Selection)

When clicking on the arrow More next to the selection intent combo box the dialog called Options appears (see image More)

By default within Manufacturing NX always uses 20.0 as the Tangent Angle. In Modeling NX uses 0.5 in my case.

How can I set the default Tangent Angle in Manufacturing to a different value?

I couldn´t find anything in the Customer Defaults or Preferences.

Best wishes,
Joachim

Sorry Joachim, I took a couple days off :*)

This is controlled by Customer Defaults > Manufacturing > Selection > Face Bounded Regions > Edge Selection Settings > Tangent Angle Tolerance. We used this because we know CAM users may want a different tolerance than CAD users.

There is a PR 7850867 - I think there is an issue in NX11. If you clear the dialog memory after setting the customer default, you should be fine.
