Danger in simple drill regarding clearance point and r point

Hello friends

if by mistake i define clearance lower then r point in dril i have crash.

can siemens add to drill operations condition that if clearance lower then r point the system will refuse and alarm will show and ask me to fix clearance height?

thank you

 

ps

That is an older PTP drilling operation type. 

 

You might want to look at this:

The chances of any updates to change the PTP code are slim at best.

 

It would be possible to add a check in the post for this condition.

 

Or run the visualization and check for gouges and collisions

 

I would add that in some cases eg Back Boring the retract point can be below the drill point etc

As said before, point-to-point operations are on critical maintenance.

A new user should start with hole making, and never look at the old drilling. 

 

Out of the box, the clearance should be set in the MCS to a safe distance above the part. This is then used by all the operations under it in the geometry view.

hole making is slow, old drill is very fast to program.
