Designer parts have interpart data on matched set models

Does any one have a best practice for machining designer models that have interpart data?

Our basic process is create a manufacturing files with the design part as an assembly.  Create a wavelink body, Hide the design part.  Start machining.  Everything works great and fine.  Until you open the marched set other half open into seesion.  The manufacturing file then updates and all the already generated MFG operation all fail.  in some cause an error opens up stating interpart data failed.

we have messed with load opinions Scope -->load-->All Componets to Structure only and unchecking Load interpart data.  and various others

Any help would greatly be welcomed.

Hi,

I would suggest to create an assembly file, add your designer part as child. Then create additional parts depending on your machining stages. Make a feature in your design part as 'current' and then wave link into your respective machining model. Repeat this process for all machining models.

When you wave link, there is an option to 'freeze' link at pertcular time stamp. Try that option.

Another option is delay interpart update and update it manually. Check 'Tools' menu as I do not remember where to set it.

We do create the a manufacturing file with the design item as a component as standard. We have also used the time stamp method.
