FBM free shaped chamfer

Builder

Hello,

for FBM i want to create a Operation for a free shaped champfer.

For this I use the Operation Variable Contour. As a drive Method I use Curve/Point is that

working with operation teaching ? I am trying to use surface area but is does not work out.

And can i set a dive Point with this operation, because there is no such setting in this operation.

thank you

Sorry, no. You won't be able yet to specify drive point and/or drive curve geometry for FBM.

You can only specify face geometry.

What NX release are you using?

Have you tried the streamline drive method too?

Posting an example or image of your chamfer would help understand your needs better.

Hi,

I am using NX 11.0.2.5.

With the the dive method curve point the champfer is machined in one depth. But the tool

dives at two different points. snip_20170711093423.png

With the drive mode - streamline i get a tool path in many dapths and also two diving points.

I want the champfer machined in one path and in one dive point.

The additional engage and retract is usually caused by a gouge of the tool and avoids that gouge.

To get only one path, you need to adjust the number of step-overs, which is usually set to 10.

Hi,

but is it possible to specify a Drive Method "Surface Area" ? And when it is, is the specification linked automatically with operation-set teaching, or do I have to specify it in Add-on ?

Thank you.

Any geometry parent must be created with the GeometryParent add-on.
