Feature Teaching with PMI

Hello,

I would like to teach this Feature and I need the PMIs which are

in the picture. The PMI names are transfered to the MKE but the

Values are not. I dont know if NX 10 is supporting this kind of dimensioning or not.

Hope you can help me here - Thank you

I am using NX 10.0.3 here.

Hi,

This typically happen when the Associated Geometry of your PMIs don't reference faces and/or edges of the feature that you are trying to teach.

Share the part and  I am sure we can quickly assist you with this.

Hi,

It turns out to be slightly more complicated that I expected. Your PMI is correctly referencing edges of the feature geometry. But there appears to be a  limitation in the underlying core software function that determines the (minimal?) distance between two edges. Apparantly, this function doesn't know what to do with the specific input of a linear and a circular edge (support for this geometrical situation requires a core software enhancement).

The workaround that I can see at the moment is for you to define a slightly different DEPTH_1 dimension as shown in the image below in combination with two additional dimensions such as the width and the radius (no image) to compense for the difference. This requires an extra feature dimensions; assuming that you already have the Radius defined anyway.

Thank you for your Support. I have one more question.

When I define a User defined Orientation plane for my PMI,

does this information goes into the MKE ? And is the Measurment

Method information also transfered to the MKE for e.g. when I choose Vertical or Horizontal ?

Thank you.
