This has been replaced with Flowcut Region Management.
You should see a Cut Regions button on the main dialog, and an entry in the What's New Guide.
I like the change.
Just wondering if you incorporate the tool collision check and tipping the tool to avoid collision any time soon.
Please let me know if I should file a enhancement request.
I agree the change is great ;*) Hopefully this is a pleasant surprise!
We did put this in the Product Notes:
Flow Cut Drive Method dialog box — NX 9.0.3 MP1
In the Flow Cut Drive Method dialog box, the Output group is removed. The functionality is replaced with the Cut Regions geometry group selection within the operation dialog box.
The old user defined order (a.k.a. manual assembly) interface was due for an update.
We did the Cut Region Manager in area milling first, then brought it in to flowcut.
Regarding the collision question - I think you can do that with Tilt Tool Axis in the Operation Navigator now. To do it in cut regions, like we do in area milling, is an ER, so please create an ER for flowcut - it never hurts for us to see multiple requests.
Thanks everyone, I found it now. I must read Release notes more carefuly.
For me in geometry group - cut regions is missing.
I found this in Customize dialog options. Why not is in geometry group as default?
Did you create the operation in 9.0.3 MP1?
Is the customer default ot use updated templates on?
Yes, NX in version 9.0.3 MP01 and option "Use Latest Updated Templates" is enabled in Manufacturing / General / Software Updates / Template Parts
Let's do a quick check to be sure you are using the updated template.
Create Operation > Type = mill_contour > Subtype = FLOWCUT_REF_TOOL > OK > OK.
Menu > Information > Part > Loaded Parts
Check that mill_contour.prt was loaded from the OOTB updates folder. For example:
mill_contour.prt mill_contour Fully Loaded Not Modified Read Only Piece Part
