Group Drilling Operatons

Hello,

I have an issure. I have many STEP1HOLEs where I have teached a drilling Operation.

When I generate the Operation for all my STEP1HOLEs, I dont get one operation where all the

Holes are machined. I want that all Holes are included in one operation group.

Could it be, because the z-axis of my Feature are not in the same direction ?

Actually that should not be a problem...

This is my setting when I create the feature process:

Have you tried creating a feature group containing all the features from within the machining feature navigator using the group features menu entry?

Have you tried using the MillDrill class instead of the MachiningSet class?

Are there differences like hole diameter or other significant ones?

Have you checked the machining feature navigator for differences despite of depths?

Could you try NX 10.0.3 MP16 or higher instead of NX 10.0.1, since there have been many bugs fixed in later releases?

Hello,

yes I have teached the operation with the grouped features.
I have used the normal hole_making - Drilling operation - what do you mean with MillDrill class and MachiningSet class ? where can I find that ?

I have changed the rapto offset in the MKE. The value depends on the tilted_top_depth, the value of these
depths are different, so I think that is why it cannot group all feature geometry in one operation.
Is there no way to include all the feature-geometry in one operation ?

Know I am usingNX 11.0.1.11

Thank you.

For the MillDrill class, see the image you posted. this class/library is the one shipping with NX and can be used to check if the difference is due to your customization.

I don't remember if the tilted top depth makes any difference, since it is just a depth. It makes a difference if it is zero or not.

For the NX release, this seems to be a mismatch with your signature Smiley Wink

Hi,

You mentioned that you have used the MKE to set different values (depending on the Tilted Top Depth) for the Rapto offset. I believe that this explains why you don't get one operation that machines all your features. The Rapto offset is an operation parameter; not a feature parameters. So you can have one operation (with a single Rapto offset value) machine multiple features with e.g. different feature depths. But you cannot have one operation with multiple Rapto offset values.

Exactly, the depths of the Rapto offset are different - so there the operations are created seperatly.

YES the MCS definition may be a problem.

In the MCS definition, there is a Tool Axis definition.   It must be set to "All Axes" for the system to allow feature selection with multi-axis in one group.
