Eddy,

Is there any future thought to being able to extend or shrink the mill area, like in streamline or surface area?

or even extend at edges like area milling?

Thanks, Paul S.

Yes, it is work in process.

At this point we address lateral trim AND extend (better than area milling / streamline as you can generate flares that in some conditions can be used smooth overlaping with neighbor regions.

I hope that in 1-2 months this will be testable in EAP version. once I have some initial results - will share it here.

Hello @Eddy_Finaro

Attached part.

In Guiding curves - there is option normal to drive tool axis - what is drive in this case?

Because in attached case I was expecting normal to surface tool path.

Can we make tool path normal to part surface? In picture bellow it is not normall:

Relative vector calculate with normal and lean/tilt from normal, if so - drive normal - so what is drive in this case?

And can we make tool path normal to part now at all?

Could you give me some information?

Thank you

if you can upload the case I can take a look. in general the drive here is the Part. if you have the TTA (Tilt Tool Axis) active it will smooth the axis change by blending the transition over a longer path so you may see locations where the tool axis is not normal to the part,.

Part attached in comment above, I didt set TTA, it is none.

I just want tool normal to part surface and obviously normal to drive is not normal to part surface.

Yes, sorry. found the link after sending the previous post. I am trying to understand why it is behaving this way. upfront looks like a bug, but I want to learn more before I can say for sure.

Hi,

a quick update - this seems to only happen if the stepover count is 0 (i.e. generating a single cut). if more cuts are  generated - they all well behave. development is looking into it.
