Which Siemens types of cutter comp did you want to support?

CUT3DC?

CUT3DFS?

CUT3DFF?

CUT3DF?

something else?

I created  a variable axis surface contouring path with a ball mill and contact output, added the Siemens UDE at the beginning, and posted through the out of the box mill_5axis_actt_Sinumerik_840D_mm post, and got CUT3DF output. Is this what you are asking about?

Hi Ken,

Sorry for the delayed response.

After looking at the Siemens 840D documentation it may be a combination of that we’d use for  5-axis surface machining.

CUT3DC Compensation perpendicular to path tangent and tool orientation
CUT3DF 5-axis with variable tool orientation
CUT3DCC NC program relates to the contour on the machining surface.

I am good for now and appreciate your Help.

Thanks C Foshey

Hi Mark,

Sorry for the delayed response.

I’ll look at applying the Siemens UDE’s to 5 axis surface machining and I appreciate your help,

Good to hear from you,
