Using Planer Mill output is correct.

 

 

I decide to utilize Hole Making

Same hole as above - when using Hole Making - with same UG-Post post processer I receive the code below ??

List the toolpath & see if the internal toolpath does the same thing.

If it does, the problem is in the operation.

If it doesn't, it is a post issue.

if I have post issue then why would planer mill helical engage work as expected, and all other typical circle moves work as expected?

 

Is there someting I need to do to prepare my post for hole making ?

 

Trying to understand internally when posting, how NX is looking at the hole dfferently between the planer mill module and hole making module.

I'm not sure what you are showing here - talking about helical engages, and then plain circle moves.

In planar milling, are you specifying a helical engage? Or using ramp on shape in a hole?

In hole milling, are you talking about helical milling? Or a Helical engage move?

If you are comparing helical engage to helical engage, then please list the path and show the helical engage moves only for the holemaking and planar milling operations, and let's go from there.

Hi Mark, yes topic is helical engage only, not ramp on shape. Please see examples of Hole Making source then post processed code - next Planer Mill source then post processed code.

 

same hole for both examples.

Output looks "similar" to me.

What is "wrong"?

 

Holemaking:

- approach moves

- G3 X Y Z I J K

- X Y Z(different) I J K

- X Y Z(different) I J K

- X Y Z(different) I J K

...

Planar mill:

- approach moves

- G3 X Y Z I J K F

- X Y Z(different) I J K

- X Y Z(different) I J K

yes same hole.

 

I will try at the machine in the next couple days. The question in general is because the Vericut simulation doesn't look good at all for the hole making operation, but when using planer mill the simulation looks ok.

 

after reviewing the output I started the post on this topic.

Ahh!

I think I see what you think what the problem is -

If they are the same hole, then why are the X & Y values different?

 

If you notice, the first GOTO/ in the internal toolpath:

Holemaking: 0,185...,0

Planar Mill: -3.7..., 185..., -14....

 

For reference, the CIRCLE/ record in the CLS is documented here:

The MSYS/ is the same, but the circle centers are NOT.

 

So I believe this is a problem in the internal toolpath, not the post.

Someone will have to look at the part to figure out why.

I can't tell from the listings, but I don't think they are the same path. I suggest you show the part to GTAC so they can look at the operations.
