When using hole milling I want to control the engage motion so that it doesn't start at the center of the hole.
In the documentation it says when I uncheck "Start from center" it uses "Minimum Clearance" to calculate the engage motion but i see no difference.
Attached you can find a picture to clarify the situation.
What I want to achieve is a helical path with cutter compensation where I can set the "Depth per Revolution" in a distance not an angle.
We are using NX10.0.3 MP5

Depends a bit on your machining context, i.e. tool diameter and start diameter of the inprocess feature.
Let's say you change the start diameter to a value slightly less than the end diameter (and greater than the tool diameter), set the minimal clearance to 0.0. Do you see something happening?
I've never used the start diameter before now I know what that does.
When I set the Minimum clearance to 0.0 the tool was stil in collision with the part.
I tried a negative value and apparently that does the trick, a bit illogical I think but it works.
