In an inspection setup, after creating the inspection paths, if we go to program order view and check for a created inspection path. There is a point set being created using add suboperation option, where we give U points, V points, U limits-> % Start area, % End area; V limits-> % start area, % end area. Now if you change the % areas the number of inspection points are changed. So I want to know how and on which functionality these options of changing % areas work. And also how the u, v coordinate system is generated in order to define points. Because if we put any limit to be zero or less than 1.000 the points get disappeared and what is the reference point used for varying the locations of the inspection points. I looked for APIs for generating inspection path changing the % area parametes, but it just works if we perform manual operation. Does anyone have the idea about it?

Here is some basic information to get us started

U and V refer to the parameters of the face you are inspecting and are defined by NX. U and V each range from 0 to 1. Values outside of that range will cause the points to be created off the face and therefore get deleted and you will end up with no points

So when defining a percentage, the range should be from 0 to 100%

Now the percentage does not have a direct effect on the number of points (that is controlled by the Number of U points and the Number of V points) but if a point is found to be outside the boundary of the face it gets deleted, so if you have a complex face with many holes varying the percentage will change the number of points since the point location will change and and different points will "fall off" the face

Hey,

Thanks for quick reply and for such valuable information. Is there any way we can control the inspection path and number of points based on some specified configurations (number of U, V points, limits, path patter, etc.). I think any APIs help would be great as well.
