How do you go about doing thread rolling on a lathe?

Has Anyone tried to simulate thread rolling on a lathe in NX. I am not sure what I would define as a tool or what the appropriote operation would be. I just need a simple tool path down the center G1 X0 Z(thread length).  I tried teach mode with a regular lathe tool, but when I specify a cut move down the center my IPW is destroyed. I am just looking for a direction to get me going.

Using NX 8.0.3.4

My first stab at this would be use a form tool, and teach mode.

I tried defining a "U" (open to left) form tool in NX10.0.2, but the tracking points are all hosed (see attached JPG)

Maybe an "L" shaped one, with one side on spindle CL?

Make sure central "bore" of tool doesn't contact part?

You'll probably need a UDE to get some of the output correct.
