I think the rap words are placeholders for the X Y Z words. There is underneath logic that decides which is used. I often prefer to get rid of them. This can be done by opening the pui in a text editor and editing as below:

change this:

{Rapid Move}               {### whatever in here ###}  {$gPB(event,rapid,name)}

to this:

{Rapid Move}               {}  {$gPB(event,rapid,name)}

and reopen in postbuilder and build the block template as you want them. Of course - back them up before trying this.

It is designed like that.
I have never have problem with it.
About modality - just set your X Y Z address in way you want.

I am worried about that some other proc may use rap to calculate the parameters instead of XYZ

In general, I leave them alone.

Note if you want XY&Z all on the same line, un-check the "work plane change" option

If you want more control, do as @Study says.

Or add blocks as needed, and a custom command BEFORE the "rapid" blocks, and add the appropriate logic & MOM_do_template calls to your blocks.

you might need some "MOM_suppress" call, but usually the modality stuff takes care of everything

@SeanHAI

If you have specific problem - desribe it and we will help you.

I would not do any manual editing of pui,tcl,def files.

I am sure you can handle problems by standard way.

I agree with above. There will be no calculations using "rap1" for instance. I don't think it is an actual address. I think underneath logic may consider tool orientation in 3d and swap out X Y or Z into rap1 for instance. If they are all on one block it shouldn't matter anyway. The actual axis letter (address) is still formatting the one used. My reason to break this out is to have control of the value for the rapid template (user defined value - potentially something else considered with mom_pos) and if mom_pos is all it is using - there is no reason to change it. Lately I haven't needed anything but mom_pos in it anyway.
