Many times a same topics was opened here..

Simple way - add UDE and define workpiece values.

More complex way - analyze each tool motion and calc minmax for XYZ and AFTER postprocessing output to first line your values for workpiece. Not so good way - for 3+2 and 5axis milling you must recalc coords - not so easy

Last way - UGOPEN application, linked with post to measure bounded part box.

The best way - insert some constant values to postprocessor (-100, 100, -100, 100, -100, 100) and edit it on real CNC...

What I use...

Create seed part for machine (i.e. with table, etc.)

Model box solid

User "Saves as" seed part to NC program part

adds part being machined

edits "box" solid parameters (origin/orientation/size) as needed

Post uses expressions to build WORKPIECE data

This works pretty well for lathes/mill-turns (where blank is always cyl/tube & along CL)

Less well for mills (part may be oriented at angle, I forget if WORKPIECE supports orienation angles, or is just square to coordinate system)
