IPW after the simulation in a solid format

Creator

Good afternoon friends.

I would like to know how to save the IPW after the simulation in a solid format.

I wanted to open the same in other software and size.

solid body is not possible in milling (follow your picture), but facet body yes (like stl...)

i'm not sure but you can do > file > export > stl file

Production: NX11.0.2.7,VERICUT 8.1.2
Development: Tcl/Tk, Gnuplot

"Verify Toolpath" "Visualize 3D" has IPW "Save" Or "Save as Component"

"Simulate Machine" has "Save as Part File"

These all generate Facet Bodies that can be exported as STL

Can you upload your IPW STL-file here? Please, exact as from first picture.

Good morning my friend.

The STL file is attached.

I would like to size the STL file in the drawing environment.

But NX does not recognize the model to size the measurement.

Ok. I convert your STL into solid body (not real solid, but sheet body - quality of source STL not so good) and - you can use it in Drawing NX! Of course, any cylindrical faces will be as set of planar faces, but you can create arcs or circles and dim it.

i don't know if @Chigishev will share his UGOPEN application , but do a search on this forum, there were several threads on this subject ipw facet body , stl to solid...  , specifically @Richard_audie's post

I have not used this, however a quick google suggests FreeCAD should convert STL to solid and export STEP

Yes, I use my UGOPEN application. I write directly in Parasolid structure all triangles, and sew it. Of course, a lot of limitations, 150000 triangles as maximum....
