I am turning a part and then doing some milling and then finish turning the part and the IPW is reverting to uncut when I get back to the finish turn operations. I had the milling at the end but wanted to mill at high chucking pressure so I needed to put it before the finish ops. Any ideas why? Using integrated NX 220.127.116.11 mp12.
I just tried that tree setup and it still showed the IPW reverting. I am using a generic motion operation and am wondering if that is what is causing the issue.
It's a known issue with NX MillTurn setup. Template subtypes (Mill Control, Lathe Control & Generic Motion) cause havoc on the setup.
My workaround is to make(cheat) a separate millturn setup for these subtypes...limitations is when using them for machining...which I've been avoiding...

I normally do a separated Workpiece and MCS for milling operation. In my case the milling operations are simple, but the simulation isn't real.
I ended up just putting the mill mcs under main lathe mcs bypassing the ipw completely and it went back to the way it was with the correct ipw on the finish lathe ops. Not optimal but it worked this time for what I needed to do.
The switching between machining modes has improved in NX 12 and later, but I think there is no way to directly support this scenario in NX 11 and below. For the older releases you need to cheat.
