Basic technique for any of the "text" libraries (machines, devices, tools, etc.)

Item ID of top level component must equal the LIBREF column entry.

So if the libref in the device_database.dat is "sim16_AC-Head" (to pick one of the existing devices), then the item ID of the top level part in the assembly, when loaded into TC, *must* be "sim16_AC-Head" (not sure about case sensitivity)

Re: Import Angular Head into Teamcenter

Hi,

You need to import the part in TC. Best is to use the NCMachine item type for the components and assy. After that, you have to classify the head in the devices -> head. The holding system is important for the simulation (head change program). See pic. If you need more info, just let me know.

Thank You - can I have one more question?

If You want to import Machine to classification (for Machine Simulation in NX CAM) then how can i do this? I don't know how it is possible to attach configuration file to Machine. If there is only machine with name and description then allways I have an error when using Retrieve Machine from Library

Have you set up the machines in native NX too?

You will just have to use the DAT file entry from the machine_database.dat file without the variable pointing to the installed machines folder.

# native machine_database.dat entry
${UGII_CAM_LIBRARY_INSTALLED_MACHINES_DIR}DMU_125_FD4\DMU_125_FD4.dat

# entry for the PP attribute of the machine classification
DMU_125_FD4\DMU_125_FD4.dat

Hope this helps.
