Linked body in CAM Template

Hi all,

When starting a new project I create the CAM file and then create a Linked body of the CAD part.

Is it possible to implement this in the template so I don't have to do this myselve every time?

Regards,
Sven

Templates can create the assembly, but not the linked body.

You can have the linked body ready in the template part, so you only have to select the new target body.

There is more benefit if the new target part file is saved as from the previous part file, so the CAM objects, that depend on faces and edges will be updated to use the new geometry.

Example:

  1. target part is a template for a specific piece part
  2. CAM template uses that CAD template
  3. new target part is derived from the CAD template
  4. most of the faces and edges of the linked body get matched
    • in certain cases one needs to use the replacement assistant for the matches

More or less similar to a CAM template for a part family member.
