Maybe it’s me. Finally upgraded to NX10 and cannot find a function I had used in 5,6,7,8,& 9
When in tool path verify – Replay. I would then select Analysis – measure distance and set the results display to Create Line. I have used this for several things, setting the tool-axis for other operations, forcing the tool to start where I have already drilled a hole etc. I cannot seem to find this option in NX10 am I missing something or is there another option to do this?
I know when I submit a PR it will most likely be “Works as designed”
Solved! Go to Solution.
Just to confirm, this is about Create Output Geometry being grayed out in the Measure Distance dialog?
Mine is always grayed out :*(
If you go directly to Analysis, is it still grayed out?
yes it is greyed out when in toolpath verify
It is available any other time
I am not looking for assotive geometry just a simple line to represent the measurement.
As far as I can tell, the measurement must be "Associative" in order to create output geometry.
In Verify, you can't make it associative because the tool is temporary, so the line would go away when the tool does.
I'll look in to this.
This was logged as ER 7541300 last October.
I'm sure it is a side effect of the enhancements to measure distance in NX 10.
I have contacted to the CAD Product Manager to see what our options are to provide non-associative geometry output from Measure Distance.
I don't pretend to understand the process you guys go through to test out your product. But how can something that has been working for at least the past 4-5 versions of NX and now is lost considered an Enhancement Request?
I know you are only the messenger and I truly appreciate your efforts.
I talked to the CAD team, and they will allow a non-associative output geometry line in NX 11.
I saw the demo and it looks great. I will be checking to be sure it is available from Verify.
