Is there a way to set this up to default all dynamic holders and part setting in my machine kinematic? I have to set this up for every operation *define tool and part collision*. The software should be smart enough to handle this by default?

I looked in customer defaults but no setting for collision pairing.

Hello,

it is possible to define collision pairs in the KIM of the machine tool inside the library, so they become available for any CAM setup, where the machine tool gets included.

Collision pairs can be defined by classification e.g. _PART  vs. _TOOL

Hope it helps

Can you be more specific on how to do this?

  1. Open the machine part file in NX
  2. enter the machine tool builder application
  3. open the machine tool navigator
  4. select "Simulation Options" from the context menu of the MTN (it is available on a blank spot)
  5. specify the collision pairs

You will now get these settings as the default when you add a machine to a setup part.
