I fix your attempt contour profile :
only one wall, one floor, not auxiliary geometry, align to edges tool axis
And add one operation:
variable contour curve/point method, offset curve left parameter, normal to part, cut area specified
*projection vector, collision checking , engage is up to you
thank you for your replying on my post.... tool path is making round portion at the entry of slot...is it possible to make sharp edges on the floor of the slot at the entry as it is in the exit? thank you.
I did this in 1851, but here are the steps in case you are on a lower version.
1) Create a new Variable Contour operation, select face of slot for workpiece in operation, do not use the solid body.
2) Change Drive Method to Curve/Point, pick inside bottom edge as drive curve. In Drive Settings set Offset Left and Tool Contact Shift to 4mm
Just wondering (and being too lazy to open the file)
As you get to the outer rim, won't your spindle contact (collide with) the rim on the other side?
Or is this a head rotary axis machine (and the whole head fits within the "bowl" of the part?)
Or are you using some sort of angular head so the spindle clears the part?
