The tool tip is only used to calculate the rest of the tracking points.
To get three tracking points, you need to set up four tracking points in MRL.
The first two might be identical, if the first tracking point is also the tool tip.

You can add more fields to the tracking point attributes.
Then you can have more than two TPs in NX CAM.
Up to 15 TP fields are supported in the MRL TCL file.
It is possible to increase the number of TP attribute values interactively.
But it is probably easier to do it on comment line.
Here are the two commands you can use to do that:
1. Increase array size of the class attribute:
smlutility -add_class_attr -u= -p= -g= -cid=CLASSID -attr_id=-450xx -array=10
2. Increase array size of the default view attribute:
smlutility -add_view_attr -u= -p= -g= -cid=CLASSID -attr_id=-450xx -view_type=Default -array=10 -recurse
