NPT thread milling and chamfering

I have a problem with the combination of thread milling NPT holes and chamfer milling in NX 9.0.3. The issue is that if I put a chamfer on the hole it pushes the major diameter to the bottom of the chamfer and not at the face of the part. So my solution has been to not include the chamfer in the model so that the major diameter is in the correct location. And to change the chamfer size to the correct number manually.

But one time I missed one and the operator adjusted the tool length so that hole was correct, then the second hole was too deep. Has anyone noticed this and have a solution?

Re: NPT thread milling and chamfering

How is the chamfer operation done (PTP/Holemaking/milling/?)

Re: NPT thread milling and chamfering

With the new hole making operations, either the chamfer milling or just chamfering.

Re: NPT thread milling and chamfering

The new hole making features from what I see, don't work for everything like they are suppose to. I submitted a PR on it and hopefully it gets fixed in a later release. If you still have to manually type in values, then I would suggest that you make a PR as well so that it might get corrected sooner.
