I'm not sure if this is your question, but...

There is "on machine probing", which (I think) is meant for when you are probing with an standard NC machine (mill/etc.), with Renishaw (or whatever) probing macros added.

Then there is NX CMM programming module(s), which (I think) is for programming actual CMMs (Zeiss/Mitutoyo/etc.)

If not, could you be more specific?

on machine probing belong NX or the third party

I believe on-machine pobing belongs to NX.

It utilizes Generic motion with specific "motion types" (probe point, probe web, etc.)

Then as part of posting, the "probe point" (or whatever) event gets converted to the appopriate call (Renishaw or other)

Note the Renishaw "Perfect part" software has an NX interface (that uses Generic Motion) that you may have to buy from them(Renshaw) to get the correct GM event types...

What are you looking for?

The probing in NX can be customized in the post.  I think it is designed to support the Rennishaw inspection Plus routines.

At TTL we have created Probing Plus, which is an extension of the NX on machine probing module. There is an overview here:
