NX10 Incorporating "Notes" into either setup sheets or top of posts.

Has anyone done this yet? For example say you have a program.

1 tool

> 5 operations

>> Each operation has its own D offset.

I'd like to document this in NX so any time either the shop docs or even the NC code is posted these notes are there. Right now I have to remember to go back and look at the program.

Starting with NX 9 or 10 you have the opportunity to use operation notes, so it would be good if you would tell us the NX release you are dealing with.

Thats what I was referencing in the first post. Using NX10 like the title of the thread says (10.0.1)

I'm not sure what you mean by notes.

Each operation should have a different mom_tool_cutcom_register, so you can output that value with each operation.

@Dstryrthe array mom_operation_notes contains the individual lines of the note, so you will have to display the contents of the array in that cell.

This might not be possible if you use Excel based shop docs.

Or you could pre-post the operations with MOM_post_oper_path or MOM_run_postprocess and have the "cutcom on" event log the data needed, so it could be output automatically (and automatically updated if you change the operations)

So lets pretend I'm an idiot. I've made several threads about this since nx8.5

Can someone "SHOW" me how to do this? I'm a small shop and about to buy a second seat. I want to get this setup for my other programmer as well. I'm sure every user would like this as the current setup is less than appealing.

Create the custom command below in postbuilder. Place the command where you want for the operation (start_of_operation) should work. I was able to output operation notes with this.

proc PB_CMD_operation_notes { } {

MOM_set_seq_off

global mom_operation_notes

   if { [info exists mom_operation_notes] } {
      set i 0
      set k [array size mom_operation_notes]
      set k [expr $k - 1]
      while {$i <= $k} {

         MOM_output_literal "($mom_operation_notes($i))"
         incr i
      }
      array unset mom_operation_notes
   }
   MOM_set_seq_on
}
