Is there a way to control the resolution of the 3D IPW thats created with "Parallel Create 3D"?
I'm working with a large part ø1200 x 200 and when I use "Parallel Create 3D" I get an polygon.
If I want an accurate 3D IPW I have so use "Verify Tool Path" and save that IPW.
That action will use the IPW setting from "Medium".
You can change that in the customer defaults or in the CAM Preferences.

I dit some testing but the result was not what I was expecting.
When I use Parallel Creat 3D this looks nothing like the 3D IPW thats created with Verify toolpath on medium settings.
On the left you can find the one thats generated with Parallel Create 3D and on the right is the one from Verify Toop Path on medium settings
thanks for addressing this by some snapshots. I really like to give you some hints, but based on this information only it is hard to tell why these differences appear. Could you either describe in more detail what you are doing or - as it looks like a simple part - provide the description and part through GTAC, so that we can have a closer look to it?
I made this part just to show the difference between the 2 functions.
The part that I'm working on is a bit more complex but I cant share it on an open forum.
We have Siemens NX from a local reseller so we don't have direct support from GTAC?

I can try to explane more what I'm doing but its really simple.
When I use Verify Tool Path, set the IPW settings to medium (same as Parallel Create 3D function as you said)
and save that IPW then I get a good 3D IPW (left picture).
If I use Parallel Create 3D then it generates a 3D in the background but the result isn't the same. (Right Picture)
I like to generate the 3D IPW in the background so I can still work on the part. This is the intention of the function I think?

MAybe I was not precise.
If the intol and chordal tolerance are the same - as well as medium needed setting is used in both cases - also the created IPW should have the same resolution.
