Probe cycle

Hello,

I try to create a probe cylinder of probe tool path. But there is only one probe bore or boss here. If I select hole as geometry, only one motion in the hole. Not like Mastercam, there is macro 3,4 point in the hole and then I can simulate in the scene.

Thanks!

On the Probe Cylinder dialog you can select the Angles - the default is Automatic, which will give you a 4 point boss/bore routine.  If you select Specify you can enter the Angle1, Angle2 & Angle3 and should get a 3 point bore/boss routine

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, we can get rhis option, but there has no motion in the CL file and simulation. Mastercam can see that.

First - You are not running Mastercam so it wil not behave the same as NX.

Is the output from the post correct?

I dont know whan the Simulation in NX will give you.  We use Vericut which simulates the Probe motion very well.

Why I set to 3 point, still output 4 point?

I don't know how the cl file output looks at the probing routies.  I have not used that for at least10 years.

I would think the Tcl files that control the cls output need to be modified to add the probing output fpr 3 point bore/boss.

You have not mentioned what your postprocessed file looks like.  When you post your clsf do you see macros such as  O9814 or O9823 in the nc file for the diameter measurement?  We mainly probe walls, not diameters, but Verify-Replay may only show a single move.

Perhaps development can comment on this...

NX does not simulate the probe cycle on the screen.   Only the first position is shown.

10.0.3 may need MP16 or later to fix some probing output issues.
