Removing the "Zero" Machining Portion of a Helical Tool Path

Creator

I tried using the Streamline Fixed Contour to create a helical tool path to machine the curved surface of a cylinder. I noticed that the top edge of the cylinder is first "cut" before the helical path begins. As no material is cut, I would like to know if there is a way to remove that first circular motion.

At the bottom of the cylinder, the tool goes around the cylinder one more time to machine the remaining material. Is there a way to remove that last circular motion as well?

Thank you in advance.

Try Streamline -> edit -> drive settings, use Contact or Tanto instead of On.

However, if you have one of the last two versions of NX installed, use fixed guiding curves. Way nicer to use and will be replacing Streamline anyway.

I have tried changing the tool position to every option available but the "zero" machining path was still generated. I was able to get rid of it with the Boss Milling operation.
