Sinumeric cycles - Postrocessor

How do you edit postprocessor for outputing sinumeric cycles?

MCALL CYCLE83(3.,-20.,2.5,,23.0043,,0.,90,0.7,0.5,90,1,0,1.2,1.4,0.6,1.6,0,1,11211111)

There is for example 5 technlogic values and many bit numbers.

There is connection between these values...I had/have problems to set it correctly.

And machine returns error many times.

So I made most of them hard coded.

What is your way?

thank you

Re: Sinumeric cycles - Postrocessor

How was the post created? (i.e. did you use a "Siemens" template controller?)

Post Builder or Post Configurator?

What variant of Siemens cycles? - looks like you have CYCLE83 with 20 parameters.

Siemens manual for this variant is 10/2015 version of 6FC5398-2BP40-5BA3 (search Siemens Control group for this manual)

If you can open open the post in Post Builder, and the post was done "normally"

1) Cycle macros are defined in "Program & Tool Path" -> "Macro" tab

You can look here to see what variables are used for each setting/parameter

2) Then go to "Program & Tool Path" -> "Program" -> Canned Cycles

see if any custom commands (PB_CMD_...) are called before the macro call - find the one(s) that set the variables you determined in step 1

3) Now see if there are any UDEs that create/modify (other) variables, that are then used by the custom commands to modify the values of the variables used in the macros.

Re: Sinumeric cycles - Postrocessor

I use PB

I know where is the macros and how operate variables by CMD

but output you get si diferent and machine doesnt accept it.

If something is changed in cycle it affect for example one of bits

Here is lots of combinatons I cant handle, too complicated, so I use some hard-coded values

Or do you think the basic output should works? for example when instead of 1211211212 is only 0 ?

Re: Sinumeric cycles - Postrocessor

It depends on the cycle, the machine builder's implementation on your machine, and what all those "bits" mean.

I've been using Sinutrain (as our machines have "operate" series controls).  So I have a .SET file I can use with how my particular machines are set up.

I've used that to edit cycles and see how the control wants to set all the "BIT" fields, then replicated that in my post.

One thing I've seen is that a lot of the options may NOT be implemented on your particular machine.  The only way to figure this out is go on the control and see what can be done interactively, or look at all the parameter variables & see what is turned on or off...
