Speed Up Machine Code Simulation

When doing complex 5x simulation of say a large "rotary floor" operation the simulation is pretty slow. Computer is new and powerful... Any tips and tricks to speed this up? Seems the higher you crank the dial the slower it goes

Disable the display of the motion, see the NX documentation about Simulation Display enhancements.

The only option to speed it up is to turn off the display? >.<

You can also switch from machine code simulation to tool path simulation, which is much faster.

Generally you get collision checking without motion display too, so there is usually no need to see how the machine moves.

If you want to check if things work out, like a feasibility test, you should use a coarse tool path anyways.

Simulation of a fine tool path is not usable for feasibility tests.

If you look at the NX news on this site you'll find the NX10.0.3 document "Improved Simulation Results with Separate Chordal and Tilt Tolerances". Maybe this helps, too. Then there's "Speed up your NC simulation" of NX10.0.2 which describes what others posted before.

Changed some tolerances and it sped up a little but the ISV is literally slower than the real machining...

The machining does no collision checking, IS&V does this.

In addition the more detailed the machine model is the slower the simulation gets.

Avoid complex faces and tiny details, simplify the machine model as much as possible by removing blends and chamfers and replacing complex faces by simple planar faces where possible.
