Hi
I would like to show you my latest tool for tool list (generated with OWI or ShopDoc).

I adds pictures showing the tool on the list.

By the way - maybe someone knows how automatically add tool pictures without using user function?

It is my custom NXOpen app which takes pictures of tools.

Now, I upgraded it, so this is all inside owi tempate. I also added information about Z-minimum for each tool and overall for program.

It is still being tested and upgraded, but I'm also thinking about sharing it somehow...

Marek,

Does it also work with Solid Tool Assemblies? That would be perfect for custom profile tool holders. We can serve as guinea pig for testing purposes, we migrated from another CAM software that had Active Reports and all of this was automated via a template file. We could use a tool like this !

Yes, it will work with Solid Tool Assemblies, for milling and turning tools. This is one of the main reasons to use this preview pictures.
I will send you details in priv message.

I upgraded it a little bit again, so it has some new features:

Hello,

This looks awesome!!! How does one create something like this? I'd love to work with awesome setup sheets like this. Knowing the Z depth would be extremely helpful!

Thanks!

thanks for good words.

I also plan to add further improvements.

At first I'm going to add several different sorting methods for tools on a tool list, like:
- same sequence of tools as they are in Machine Tool View
- sequence of tools as they show in NC program
- and obviously by tool number, and by tool name.

Marek,

That video and pdf you shared look awesome! I wish i could set mine up that way. I am having trouble right now with the tool list sequence. It doesn't output in any logical order. Not order of use and not sequential. I would love to test out your custom work instructions.
