I need to rough this part from the top side with a Woodruff cutter, and as the picture demonstrates, stock width varies a lot. I've tried all kinds of paths, but can't generate stepovers with IPW awereness. If I just offset the path, there's a lot of cutting air.
I've used heavy feed optimizing as a compromise, but there must (?) be a better way.. I'm using CAM express with 3-ax only.

Planar Mill Operation
Set part boundary to your cicle boss
Set Blank boundary to outside of box
Use cut levels > user defined > Distance from top to make sure keyseat doesnt cut flange.
Now you can specify follow part cut pattern and it will attack the corners only instead of multiple circle offset paths that cut air 50% of the time.
New cut plane transfer option makes it even better.... with stepover control feed rate can save lots of time.
