They use D3-R0.5 tool

I would use Follow Part or Follow Periphery cut pattern with Smooth Non Cutting Moves.

Hi Mark,

 

The 'follow periphery' result does not look good in NX 7.5....at least not as good as shown in original image. Need to do some additional settings... I have not checked 'follow part' in NX 7.5 or in NX 9 or NX 10.

 

After machining it may give good finish !

Yes - use the area mill drive method and pick the top faces as cut area, no steep/nonsteep separation, follow periphery cut pattern inward.

Also, try applying the stepover on part or on plane - the results will be a little different.
