2 Intel Xeon E5-2667 3.3GHz
2 NVIDIA Quadro K5000
128 GB ram
Win7 64 bit
With this pc, the generating time at complex part is too long.
If i use a "floor and wall" for a simple surface milling, i pick the top face for floor, after that the programm is thinking for 2-3 minutes. So for example i want to change on containment page, the extend floor from thickness to part outline or blank outline. Okay i must wait another 3-4 minutes for work in process window. Next step the generating... Every time if i want to change something i wait for the processing and this was just a simple machining.
A simple laptop config like i7 4700MQ with 2 Nvidia 755M is better than the workstation??
Cause our measurements say this.
Laptop generating e.g. 10 minutes.
Workstation generating e.g. 15 minutes.
What's the optimal hardware configuration for NX CAM?

Disable the preview for floor/wall operations through the customer defaults.
Don't use FLOOR_WALL_IPW, if you don't need/have an IPW.
What NX release are you working with, there have been significant enhancements in NX 10.0.3 regarding floor/wall performance.

Thanks for the fast reply Stefan Pendl.
That option solved the waiting time between two generate.
But the problem than NX just use 3% from the CPU capacity and 15% from the GPU capacity is standing yet.

NX CAM is constantly enhanced to support multi-threading when ever appropriate.
This will increase the usage of multiple cores in the near future.
If you use NX 10.0.3, you will find that there is a performance boost for multiple operation types compared to NX 8.5.3 when generating tool paths.
There are limitations due to the architecture of the tool path generation processor, so it is not always possible to improve all operations.
