drill cyclee sort to remove backlash

[ Edited ]

Is there any way without a UDE to get in to use the same x and y approach direction when drilling holes to remove any backlash in the machine?

before drilling each hole move to its location using the x+ and y+ direction.  it would have to position to the opp side then move to final location.

i have over 500 holes to drill on this part.

thanks

If you want to have the post *always* do this, you can code it in the post (check mom_prev_pos, or else just hard code the move to X- Y- then back to X+ Y+)

Otherwse you'll need a UDE to tell the post when to (or not to) do this.

Does your machine have a G code to do this?  (some do, I think something like G60)

I didn't see the word "sort" in your title.

Note there are some methods to sort holes in some sort of order, but *in general* one of the axes will have to reverse (i.e. you can alway position from greater to lesser X, but then the Y may be going up & down.)
