how to drill like PTP drilling

We have just shifting from PTP drill operation to hole_making. We used to make all drill operations before the mill_contour operations. So we will drill from top of the raw material even though the counter is way deep from the surface. This can be done using PTP drill operation.

But using the new drilling operation (hole_making template) the operation start below the raw material. Is it possible to drill like PTP drilling using hole_making operations?

Hi LIM,

Yes, you can drill like a PTP operations using a new Drilling operations.

You can do this selecting the option "Use 3D" in the In Process Workpiece in Hole Geometry.

You can find more information in below link.

I hope this help.

The nice part about letting the system use the IPW, is that if you reorder the operations, for example move the milling before the hole making, the drilling operations will update.
