turning simulation-pausing on chuck revolution

Pioneer

We are expreincing a pausing in sim turrning when chuck revolves? there is no tool load wait time or pause whilst updating features and objects present when running Raw NX sim example sim15_millturn_setup_sinumerik_mm_dual_sync.

This example file seems to run so much smoother than our pgm's???

Milling is fine...so is turning if we hide machine. Updating features objcts only starts(pausing) when chuck begins to revolve???

Hello,

it might be that you see a little delay in simulation at this point in time when a work piece spindle is switched on. The reason for this is the generation of the spinning geometry representation of all objects on the spindle e.g. chucks the clamping and the part file itself. As more complex the geometry is as longer the delay could be.

Yes I agree Im sure that it's when a work piece spindle is switched on and maybe the expression to open jaws to correct diameter.
Is there a quick way to turn on/off spindle revolution in turning?
Appreciate this would not represent jaws rotating but the pausing is annoying.
The sample part is more complex than the present one i'm working on?

There is no way to turn that of, because then the collision results are no longer reliable.

What you can try. If you do not have any axis (like for jaws) below the spindle in the kinematic tree the calculation will done only once at the beginning.

Thanks Thomas,

That sounds like a good idea..

If we supress jaws all runs smoothly, so its definetly to do with 3 components being revovled each time..

Attached Kinematic tree.

Help appreciated

Re: turning simulation-pausing on chuck revolution

Hi,

We had the same problem. Our work around was to change the IPW resolution to coarse in the costumer defaults

This worked for us and improved the performance.
