unwanted y moves with rotary

I can't find a setting to get rid of the Y moves.  in code below from N208 to N226 only the C should be moving with the Y at 0.0  Why do I get Y.001 moves like on line N214

I've played with intol/outol - i can make it worst but not better

thanks

N202 Y.099 C275.16

N204 X.994 Y.086 C270.71

Have you tried locking the axis through an UDE?

Re: unwanted y moves with rotary

but I need the y moves on the other blocks.  Like N202 , 204,206...

The part comes out ok.  But the people I'm progamming for think It's dumb and I agree.

Also, I'm using the combine rotary proc otherwise I get all kinds of C moves.

Re: unwanted y moves with rotary

What is your NX version? Have you tried to change the output resolution of your post in PB?

Re: unwanted y moves with rotary

I think this maybe caused by the new rounding change made in NX8

Re: unwanted y moves with rotary

The working link is circular motion output as linear due to post rounding changes

NX9.0.3.4 mp4

the resolution is set to .0001 and the XYZ are .0001 resolution also

waz -

If you have had the output (prior to NX8) that came out without the small fluctuation in Y before, you may try with setting the env var UGII_CAM_POST_ENABLE_RESOLUTION_ROUND to "1" (w/o quotes) to revert NX/Post back to the old behavior (approximately).

But, I would suspect that somewhere in your setup is perhaps not "square" (as other folks pointed out), since the new method is supposed to produce more precise output (by rounding the numbers at the very end of the process).

Re: unwanted y moves with rotary

setting the env var UGII_CAM_POST_ENABLE_RESOLUTION_ROUND to "1"

so what happens three years from now when we have upgraded NX several times and someone re-post this toolpath.  Or if someone has NX running on a laptop with their own install and they have no idea this var needs set?

This doesn't seem like a good solution to me.

Also, the model cam from Pro E so maybe things are not square.  Would be nice if NX could deal with it.

Someone running on a laptop disconnected will have to have posts and machines and templates - so the "custom" launch (that can set environ vars) is just another part of what needs to be there. I agree (though) that machine specific environ var settings would not be ideal. If on each machine you wanted a different environment - there is probably a way to do that - but better to find another way. I suspect this was implemented more to buy some time across the board (all posts) until they are updated.
