There is a simpler workflow to generate Ply Books without managing these layering schemes by using Groups. Steps are detailed as follows:
Step 1: Prepare the sheet as normal (irrespective of layers) and place the user-defined boundary view, as well as the flat pattern view.
Step 2: Assign the splines created from the flat pattern view to a new Group by trap-selecting (“highlighting”) all the objects, right-clicking on one of the splines, then selecting New Group, as seen below.
Step 3: Enter a name if desired and press OK to create the new Group. Now all of the visible splines on your flat pattern view are assigned to the newly-created Group.
Step 4: Hide the Group by unchecking it in the Part Navigator:
Step 5 (optional): Return to Modeling application (this step cannot be done in the Drafting application) and double-check that flat patterns have been created and then hidden in the Part Navigator:
Step 6: Generate Ply Book as normal, and flat patterns should generate without the 3D model splines in the background.
If boundary lines of the flat pattern view persists despite following the steps above, replace the flat pattern view, create and hide a Group for the view’s splines, and then reassign the view to your ply book.
Be sure to hide the Fibersim flat patterns in the Modeling application before generating the ply book.
