NX Geometry Naming Part 4: How to name multiple NX curves so it shows up in Fibersim

When working in Fibersim you may have many similar curves that you want to name in order, such as substructure datums. It is still possible to have the segment names be meaningful by using patterned naming.  To rename many curves at once:

  1. Set the selection filter to “Curve”
  2. Select the curve segments to be renamed in the order you want to name them. If you don’t care about the order, you can trap-select the curves.
  3. Right click on one of the selected curves and select Properties.
  4. Enter the common part of the name (e.g. “Frame.”), check the box “Add index to name” and set the starting index (default is 1):

  5. This will name the curves selected Frame.1, Frame.2, Frame.3, etc.

  6. Keep in mind that this only names geometry and not the features, so the names will not be reflected in the Part Navigator.
