Modifying search path for .lyr & .suf files

N/A

Can I make Fcad point to a server directory to find my "defined layers" that GM
uses? Specifically the .lyr files & .suf file. I tried changing this in ver7
& ended up making it so that they would not pull in automatically anymore in that
version. I would always have to reselect anytime I opened a new file.
I'm not anxious to have the same thing happen again with ver9.

Mark,
Here is the comment from our Tech Support team on this issue:
The lyr and suf files need to be in the support folder or in a sub-folder
under the support folder. If a file is saved with the layer files
information, loading the Factory CAD menu will not prompt to load the lyr
and suf files again. If a new file is being created, loading the Factory CAD
menu will default to the default lyr and suf files. This can be fixed by
selecting a GM template file (when creating a new file) that already has the
lyr and suf file information saved in it.

Mark, if you (or your IT) installed the layer files I posted correctly this would
have happened in both 7.1 and the new version. The zip file posted to supplypower
is set to unzip to the default directory of c:\program files\ugs\factory programs
v9.0\support\. If it is different than this you will experience you current symptoms.
If necessary manullay unzip the files to make sure they go to the support directory
were FactoryCAD is installed. Make sure you allow it to overwrite files. If you
do not, the defaults will not be set.
